A story of unrequited love.....
I do hope you like.......
I could have loved you.
I could have loved you,
I’ve seen naked beauty in
Your poetry
Like a calm night the sky -
Filled with stars
I’ve seen you naked.
I’ve felt your breath on my neck,
Heard the sweet words – imploring:
“You will take care won’t you?”
With such tenderness,
I could have loved you.
I’ve felt your loss – you’re hurt
That void deep inside
I feel it, the emptiness of
A lost love – time standing -
Still,
A fork in the road.
I could have loved you.
I could have loved you,
Had your Angels waited -
For us.
You shared you’re skies your
Moon,
I could have loved you.
I basked in your perfume
Seen dancing in your
Beautiful eyes
Imagined us making love all
Night long.
You -
Waking all shaky legged,
Me -
With that aching pearl in my
Loins,
I could have loved you.
I could have loved you,
Yet imagine your sad lonely
Eyes as the fates blow
A different wind - for another,
I could have loved you.
